Enabling Healthcare Connectivity

Nextern has enabled our partners in MedTech for over 20 years. A critical part of how we serve our partners is continuing to invest in new capabilities and services that enable healthcare connectivity for our partners.

3 people connected by a line iconIn recent years, our partners have increasingly discussed the need for healthcare connectivity. They were seeing the value that connecting their medical devices to a mobile application or to the cloud could bring to their users and their businesses, while asking the following questions:

  • How much of an edge over competitors does connectivity create?
  • Could a mobile application improve the user experience (UX) of a therapy for the end user?
  • Could collecting the data from the device make their therapy more effective?
  • Could the software ecosystem enable them to run a clinical registry remotely?

The answer to these questions was often yes. Once they had an established roadmap for their technologies, we provide guidance on technology, regulatory, security, scalability, and launch.

Liink, A Better Solution for Healthcare Connectivity

From this opportunity, Liink was born. Nextern Liink creates and launches custom, secure, and scalable software solutions for healthcare connectivity. We have built a team of experts that can design and develop clinician and patient-facing mobile applications. Additionally, our cloud engineers can architect systems to store, analyze, and transform the data into actionable insights. We can accelerate the development of a minimally viable product (MVP) and build scalable solutions.

Molecule design for Nextern LiinkWe know the MVP is not where the road ends for our partners’ digital products. Connected medical device software is what we like to call a “living thing”. It sits on an operating system (iOS for example) and hardware the medical device company does not control. Consumer expectations for software as a medical device are constantly evolving at paces not seen in traditional firmware and hardware. In conclusion, we have developed processes and expertise to maintain these products on the marketplace and continue to develop features throughout the lifetime of the product that delight end users.
